Mr. Tenley has been involved in energy pipeline matters since 1989, and has led Pipeline Research Council International since 1999. For 55 years, PRCI has been the leading collaborative research development program of the energy pipeline industry worldwide. During his tenure at PRCI the membership has grown from 23 predominantly gas transmission pipeline member companies to 37 companies, including 11 oil and petroleum products pipelines. In addition, the membership now includes 14 associate members comprised of companies that manufacture equipment, and tools for the industry, as well as companies and organizations that provide support services essential to the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of energy pipelines. This diverse membership gives PRCI a presence on five continents. Prior to coming to PRCI, Mr. Tenley served for 10 years as a Senior Executive in the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he was Chief Counsel of the Research and Special Programs Administration. From 1990 – 1995, he headed the Department’s Office of Pipeline Safety. While in the Department, Mr. Tenley worked with the leadership of the pipeline industry to lay the foundation for the introduction of integrity management in the pipeline safety program. Mr. Tenley holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Mr. Gil Jiménez is an Industrial Engineer with more than 14 years’ experience working in oil & gas industry, in several disciplines including design, construction, maintenance, and research & development. Most of his professional career has developed in Enagas S.A., the major company for gas transportation in Spain. He was joined to Enagas S.A. in 1998 till 2002, working as a High Level Technician in the maintenance department. After, he worked for 2 years as Technical Manager in the division of gas transportation and distribution in Endesa S.A.. After his experience in Endesa S.A., in 2005, he returned to Enagas S.A. as Responsible for the Pipelines Engineering Department for 2 years, and since 2007 holds the leadership of Technology Manager in the Technology and Innovation Direction.
Mr. Diams is Director of major projects in the sectors of Energy Industry and the Infrastructure sector. Member of the Management Board of various companies and organizations. Special representative of the Greek Ministry of Development for international energy issues. At present he is Director of the Greek Branch of the International Project Company TBP (Burgas - Alexandroupolis oil pipeline). Technical Coordinator for the International Project Company TBP (Burgas -Alexandroupolis oil pipeline). General Manager of the HELPE-THRAKI SA (the Greek Shareholder of Transbalkan Pipeline (TBP BV) Company. He is also an executive staff member of Hellenic Petroleum.
Mr. Lars Erik Storck is a graduate from the Technical University of Denmark of 1984 with MSc in Civil Engineering. As a consulting engineer since 1984 he has gained experience in design and supervision of on- and offshore oil and Gas projects. Since 2001 Lars Erik has been employed by DONG Energy in the Subsea Technology Department first as responsible for the ROV and Diving IRM work on offshore Transmission pipeline systems and from 2007 as Manager of the Department responsible for IRM, route and site survey, integrity management and Emergency Pipeline Repair preparedness of all the subsea facilities the company operates. The facilities are covering offshore transmission pipelines, inter field pipelines, jackets, subsea production and oil off-loading system.
Asle Venas has been worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 28 years. He joined DNV in 1982 and the major part of his working experience is from development of oil and gas fields in various places around the world. The last 20 years he has mainly been working with onshore and offshore pipelines both during new projects, operations, life extension as well as abandonment. He has been responsible for several research and development projects both internally DNV and Joint Industry Projects. He has also been heavily involved in the development of DNV Rules for Submarine Pipelines Systems (DNV 1996) and the Offshore Standard DNV-OS-F101 “Submarine Pipeline Systems” (DNV 2000). Asle Venas has been involved in many deep water pipeline projects. E.g.: as Project Manager for several large technical verification projects of many challenging deep and HTHP water pipelines, like certification of the Blue Stream installation. He has also been project manager for development of large gas pipelines both onshore and offshore. Asle Venas is presently Global Director for the Offshore Pipelines Segment in DNV Energy.
Jon Major is Vice President of T.D. Williamson Inc. (TDW). TDW, privately held and in business for 90 years, is a market leader in pipeline intervention technology, products, and solutions. Jon has been with TDW for 8 years serving as Manager of Business Development, Manager of Pipeline Integrity Products and Services, Vice President of Western Hemisphere Operations and currently, Vice President of TDW’s global offshore services business unit. Jon has served the energy industry for nearly 30 years, 20 years of which with Texaco Inc. (acquired by Chevron in 2001), a worldwide integrated energy company. He held a variety of domestic and international onshore and offshore, project, business development, and operational leadership roles in Texaco’s upstream and midstream businesses. Jon, since joining TDW, has been instrumental in developing and executing TDW’s strategies for growth and the acquisition of pipeline technology firms over the past 8 years. Jon, originally from Rochester New York, earned his undergraduate degree in structural engineering from Michigan Technological University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. Jon is a registered professional engineer and is active on ASME’s International Offshore Pipeline Forum. Jon has two grown daughters, and resides in Houston, Texas.
Ray Burke is a chartered mechanical engineer with international oil company experience, mostly in the fields of structural design, subsea engineering, project management, pipeline engineering, and novel technology and materials development. Effective May 1, 2008; Burke was appointed as Chief Operating Officer for Pipestream, a technology company focused on creating new materials and construction methods for the pipeline industry. He held a position as a full-time University lecturer for a number of years. Burke has been elected as a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the highest class of elected membership of the governing body for the profession in the UK. He has held technical authority and executive roles in a number of Shell entities before joining Pipestream. As R&D manager at Shell Global Solutions he was responsible for the innovative X200 pipeline project and other onshore and offshore innovative technologies. Burke has a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a master’s degree in Ocean and Subsea Engineering from University College London. He is a named inventor on 20+ patents and has undergone executive and technical training through the Shell Open University. He is married with two children and currently resides in Houston, Texas. Andrew is a Chartered Engineer with more than 20 years’ experience working with optical fibre in many sensing and telecommunications applications, in disciplines including R&D, manufacturing, applications and sales & marketing. Andrew has for the past 5 years held the role of Technology Manager for the Midstream Oil & Gas group within Schlumberger, the world’s largest Oilfield Services Company. During this time he has worked with the company’s range of distributed temperature sensors and their application to pipeline monitoring. In parallel, and working closely with one of the world’s largest Oil Exploration & Production operators, he has also managed the development of new optical fibre technologies from initial feasibility study to the creation and proving of the present Integriti range of pipeline condition monitoring products.
Mr. Norsworthy received a BS in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin University in 1968. After teaching in public schools for several years, he worked as a corrosion technician for Tennessee Gas Company (1980-84) and Amoco Pipeline (1988-91). Between 1984 and 1988 he was an Instructor in Corrosion Technology at Kilgore College. From 1991-95 he was Manager of Corrosion Control for Mobil Pipeline. In1995 he started Lone Star Corrosion Services, which became part of Polyguard Products in 2007. Mr. Norsworthy has published numerous papers on corrosion control, and authored the chapter on Coatings for Underground or Submersion Service in Uhlig’s Corrosion Handbook. He is a NACE instructor for courses in basic corrosion, CP, and Coatings Used in Conjunction with CP.
With over twenty years experience in the In-Line Inspection industry Wolfgang has extensive experience in new product design and product launch. He is also co-inventor of the UltraScan corrosion inspection system. Since 2004 Wolfgang has been Corporate Manager Marketing at ROSEN Swiss AG, responsible for all global marketing activities, advertisement, new product developments and product launch.
